Piano Hinge Book

INSTRUCTIONS:

A closer look at the piano hinge reveals how easy it is.
Supplies needed:  3 schewers,  2 pieces of your choice of cardstock cut 11x5 1/2 (scored and folded), chalk inks for distressing, light weight wire and your choice of beads and fibers.

Begin by folding your cardstock in half.  Mark on the fold every half inch.  Cut in from the fold on each marked line approx. 3/8" depending on the diameter of your schewer.  You should end up with 10 slits.
After all pages are cut,  lace your schewer into every other slit. on page one.   The slits that are not laced you can fold them over a little to make it easier when lacing in the 2nd schewer.  Place your second sheet next to the first one and now lace the schewer through one slit from the new page and the free slit from the first page.  After finshing at the bottom, you will now have another row of slits that you can again fold over a little.  You are now ready to lace you 3rd schewer through these slits.
If you wanted to add more pages you would just continue in the same manner.

To secure the schewers so they would not fall out, I laced wire at the top by going around the schewers about 3 times.  I left the wire long so I could lace on different beads and then bring it down to the bottom of the book, I again laced the wire around the schewers several time.  After cutting the wire, I used E6000 glue onto the wire to secure it in place.
